Women’s Soccer Falls to Rutgers

The dream season for the University of Hartford women’s soccer team came to an end on Friday night as the Hawks fell to Rutgers 2-0 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Rutgers scored once in the first half and once again in the second half for the win, and they will take ok Boston College in the second round on Sunday.
Hartford made it’s 13th NCAA Tournament appearance, but was overmatched by the Scarlet Knights and their offense. Jenifer Anzivino and Caycie Gusman scored for Rutgers and goalie Erin Guthrie notched her 13th shutout of the year. Despite the loss, Hartford played tough and strong. Liz Cook made seven saves in goal in the loss.
