Big plans are coming for a shopping center near you. A real estate firm is in the proposing improvements for the Bishop’s Corner area in West Hartford. South Carolina firm Edens and Avant plans to build a bank, fill empty retail space, and design a community plaza. The West Hartford Town council held a public hearing to discuss the proposal on Tuesday.

“It’s what we like to call our neck of the town, so we’re very glad to be here and to be working on this project. As both architects and both neighbors”, said one of the developers at the hearing.

Edens and Avant have owned two buildings in the area for several years. The project is expected to cost between 10 million and $15 million. In addition to the architectural changes, landscaping, traffic and parking would also be improved. The weekend campus shuttle has direct service to Bishops corner Friday through Sunday.
