Postgame with Tom Poitras

WHAT WERE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE GAME?

“Well it was a tough game, a big battle obvious;y it was an instate rivalry game and we went down on a deflection goal early in the game but i think we did a really good job we showed a lot of resilience and toughness and continued to compete. We got a goal back 10 seconds after they scored which was an incredible response to a goal for our team and the keeper did a good job and we wound up getting the keeper a little later.”

TALKING ABOUT THAT FIRST GOAL, WHAT DO YOU THINK WENT WRONG THERE?

“I think we gave a little too much space in the midfield and number 7 for them Phillip Suprise got free. Hes good shooting from both feet we know him very well from scouts and what we’ve seen in the past. He had a good shot but it hit one of our guys in the back and our keeper wound up going to one side of the net while the ball went in on the other side.”

JAVONI SIMMS WENT DOWN FOUR TIMES DURING THE GAME, THE SECOND TIME HE WAS STEPPED ON WITH NO CALL, WHAT WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR MIND AT THAT TIME?

“Whats going through my mind is that Javoni has 7 goals in 9 games and that’s a lot of goals for a freshman so hes going to start drawing a lot of attention a lot of marking along with some physical play like we saw tonight so I think hes going to have to learn how to deal with that aspect of the game, he scored a goal as well that’s a good response to the physical play.”

AMERICA EAST PLAY IS STARTING SOON YOU’RE ON A FOUR GAME STREAK HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GO ABOUT?

“We got another game another rivalry game Saturday night here at home. That’s our last game before conference play, were happy to be 6-3 at this point we’ve got to get better to improve for the conference play so there some things we want to work on getting better on the defensive side, keep possession of the ball so as the season goes that’s what were looking for.”
