School warns against “Undergrounding”

Under-grounding is a practice where a Fraternity or Sorority that is not permitted to practice on Campus takes a pledge class. The practice is popular with first semester Freshmen who are not allowed to join Greek Life until second semester.

Students joining unregistered Fraternities or Sororities are not covered by university insurance, not on the national roster, and face possible harsh hazing practices.

As of 1/6/12 these are the registered Fraternities and Sororities on campus:

National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) — Sororities —
Alpha Xi Delta
Delta Gamma
Delta Zeta
Phi Mu
Sigma Delta Tau
Sigma Kappa
Inter fraternal Council (IFC) — Fraternities
Alpha Epsilon Pi
Alpha Sigma Phi
