The Ellsworth Lecture series was donated to the University of Hartford years ago by John Ellsworth’s family to be used to educate students about the American free enterprise system.

Bordainick is the founder and CEO of Dinner Lab, and was brought in this year to speak to students at the upcoming Ellsworth lecture titled “The Start-Up Secret Sauce: Building a Company from the Ground Up”.

His company is a traveling show that is currently valued at 33 million dollars. This club brings together undiscovered chefs to cook in different places for the diners to eat at. There have been many exotic places where the club has been held at ranging from helipads to empty movie theaters. It currently operates in 20 cities in the United States.

30 year old Bordainick will speak to students about how it takes a lot of trial and error in order to make a business, and that it is okay to fail at first.

Bordainick’s lecture relates to students of all majors because entrepreneurs come from all different backgrounds. President Walter Harrison said that “this is a good story for anybody who is really thinking about having a career”.

The Ellsworth Lecture featuring Brian Bordainick will be held on Tuesday October 6th at 5:30pm in Wilde Auditorium in the Harry Jack Gray Center. This lecture is sold out.
