Three Former Hawks Taken in NLL Draft

Earlier this month, three former University of Hawks lacrosse players, Josh Wasson, Matt Holman, and Tim Chisholm were selected in the 2006 National Lacrosse League draft. With the 12th overall pick, the Chicago Shamrox picked Wasson while the Portland LumberJax selected Holman as the 20th overall pick. Chisholm was taken by the Toronto Rock in the sixth round as the 73rd overall pick. Wasson finished his Hartford career with 70 goals and 16 assists for 86 points. He was a two-time co-captain in 2005-06 and was a four year letter winner as well. In 2006, Wasson had a career best six goal game against Quinnipiac. Holman was also a two-time co-captain in 2005-06 and four year letter winner. In his Hartford career, Holman racked up 64 goals and 21 assists for 85 total points. He was also named to the America East All-Academic Team in 2006 and was a four-time selection to the America East Academic Honor Roll. In his junior year, Holman led the Hawks in scoring with 27 goals and six assists for 33 points. Like his two fellow Hawks, Chisholm was a four-year letter winner as well and was a four-time selection to the America East Academic Honor Roll. Chisholm ended his Hartford career with 25 points as he scored 17 goals and had eight assists. The NLL is the professional indoor lacrosse league in North America that has 13 teams in the league playing in cities in both the United States and Canada. The league starts it's season in December and runs through April with a 16 game schedule.
