Hartford’s Joe Zeglinski scored a career-high 24 points on Sunday against Vermont, but it wasn’t enough as Hartford fell 90-73 against the Catamounts in the regular season finale. It was the third most points the Hawks have given up all season and dropped their record to 12-17 overall and 6-10 in the America East. The game had upset written all over it as Hartford had a 50-44 lead before halftime as the Hawks shot 63 percent from the floor before the break, but Hartford cooled off in the second half as they only scored 23 points, compared to Vermont’s 44. Bo Taylor was charged with two fouls in the first four minutes and sat out the rest of the half. Taylor finished with eight points. Jaret Von Rosenberg and Alex Zimnickas also scored in double figures as they had 18 and 16 points, respectively. In the second half, Hartford was only able to shoot 30 percent from the floor, compared to 52 percent for the Catamounts. Hartford begins AE Tournament action this weekend in Boston.
