The upcoming production, Miss Saigon, is a powerful tale of love, tragedy, and war.

The director of the show, Kevin Gray, says, "The Broadway idiom is full of boy meets girl, girl meets boy, boy and girl fall in love, thus is the story. In a sense that's what we have here, it's just that it's set against an extraordinary backdrop and the complications that arise are the complications that the American involvement, and the French involvement, in such a sense created."

With the exceptional performance that the audience receives when the curtains go up, most viewers do not think about all of the hard work that goes into a show such as Miss Saigon.

Gray says that the production consists of, "...an enourmous orchestra, probably one of the biggest orchestras we've ever had here at Hartt, of players under the baton of maestro Mike Morris and a cast of the equivalent size and a crew almost that big so it's a village."

Gray also says he hopes for a large crowd at each scheduled performance. So, make sure to buy your tickets in advance and get to the theater early.

Also, just a reminder if you're planning on seeing Miss Saigon, that the bridge near Lincoln Theater will still be under construction at the time of the scheduled performances. Alternate routes are available so please plan accordingly.

The show will take place on Thurs. October 25, Fri. October 26, Sat. October 27, at 7:30pm and Sun. October 28th at 3:00pm. Tickets are free for students and staff with their Hartford I.D. (1 free ticket per I.D.) and $20 for the general public. For information or to buy tickets call the University Box Office at (860) 768-4228 or (800) 274-8587.
