The University of Hartford Celebrates Culture

International Week International Week

This year from February 29th to March 5th, the University of Hartford’s Study Abroad department is holding the Seventh Annual International Week which celebrates the diversity of different cultures.

There are many different events being held throughout the week from a belly dancing workshop to a Harry Potter trivia contest to an event called Global Village which features multiple International student groups from around campus who are there to teach students about their cultures. This event will, also, hold a study abroad fair for students to learn more about the opportunities that studying abroad offers.

There will also be a Bollywood dance class offered during the week where students can get the experience of learning multiple Bollywood dance techniques. Dance is a very important part of Indian culture.

This week all culminates at the end with an International Festival which will feature many local ethnic restaurants with food for students to eat. If students attend four events during the week and get their International Passport stamped at each event which students can pick up in GSU 327. Otherwise the event costs five dollars for students and will be held in GSU cafeteria from five pm to nine pm.
