Relay For Life to Grab Attention of American Cancer Society

The annual Relay for Life event will be attracting a good amount of attention for the University.

Taking place at the University’s Village lawn, as opposed to the academic side of campus, the event has sparked the interest of the American Cancer Society’s (ASC) board members.

Due to the projected amounts of money that the campus wide event is supposed to be raised, the ASC will have a visiting representative to give a speech along with the usual performances of singing and dancing.

Students are encouraged to participate in the event however they can.

“It’s a great way to bring people together and I would encourage the person to go because not only can be there with your friends but you can meet new people,” Vincent Gaglioti, Student Representative for Relay for Life.

So far there are 35 teams, 447 participants and the school has raised over 16 thousand dollars.

The event is taking place Sunday, April 24 from 1 PM – 8:30 PM.
