Real Art Ways Art Exhibit
Real Art Ways Spoke with STN about their museum, and the connections they still have with the University of Hartford

Real Art Ways was founded in the fall of 1975 by Hartford Art School and Hartt School alum. It started out as an artist collective that put on art shows and musical performances. Over time, Real Art Ways evolved into a non-profit organization led by Joseph Celli that displays a variety of artwork including sculpture, painting, drawing, and video work.
Their connection with the Hartford Art School is still strong today. Several of the Real Art Ways employees are alumni and alumni work is frequently showcased in their exhibitions. They also have had visual arts internships for current students, with hopes to expand their internship program by early next year.
The current exhibition is hosting the work of New Haven artist Howard el-Yasin who utilizes everyday items that are often thrown away, including dryer lint and banana peels. To explore this exhibit and learn more about Real Art Ways, visit realartways.org
