SOFTBALL PLAYERS BREAK SCHOOL RECORDS

Despite being swept by Central Connecticut State University in a doubleheader, the Hawks had two softball players to break school records. Senior Nikki Thompson became the all-time career leader in homeruns with nineteen after a homer in the fourth inning of the second game. She leads the team with five home runs this season.
Teammate Kristie Rochette also broke a school record for career walks after she drew her sixtieth free pass in the first inning of the second game. Even with the record breaking, the Hawks lost both games by the final scores of 9-3 and 8-2.
The Hawks will now focus on their final games of the season this weekend in a three-game weekend series against UMBC. One win will clinch Hartford a spot in the America East Championship.
