An Update on the death of Liam Payne, as 3 arrests have been made

Three arrests have been made following the investigation into, singer, Liam Payne’s death. The local prosecutor’s office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, stated that three suspects had been charged, “with the crimes of abandonment of a person after death, supply and facilitation of narcotics”.

The suspects range from a hotel employee who “is accused of supplying the singer with cocaine during his stay”, to another suspect who is, “alleged to have supplied drugs twice on Oct 14, two days before Payne’s death” (USA Today), and a person who was with Payne, during his time at the hotel. The charges are said to be a 15-year max sentence in prison if convicted.

The investigation has continued since Payne’s death, which has led to many twists and turns regarding the questions of how Payne, ended up on the balcony and ultimately fell to his death.

Payne died on Oct 16th, following a fall from his third-floor hotel balcony. What at first seemed like an unfortunate accident, turned into something else following the autopsy report.

At the time it was said that Payne was dead on scene due to extreme injuries once the authorities arrived. The autopsy report then stated that the singer had died due to polytrauma which is, “multiple injuries, some of which may cause significant disability and may be life-threatening” (NBC News). It is also important to note that before Payne’s death, numerous drugs were in his system, ranging from, pink cocaine, that is a “combination of MDMA, ketamine, and methamphetamine” (NBC News), as well as traces of Benziodiapines and crack cocaine.

Foul play is unsuspected at this time, but with the current arrest, the investigation continues to ask the question if there was.
