Many families in Hartford have become displeased with the local YMCA. Controversy has erupted over the YMCA’s decision to move after being around for decades.
The YMCA headquarters in West Hartford has decided to create three new facilities. These plans have brought about a negative view towards the organization local residents.
The plans to take this one centralized location and move it to the north end, south end, and downtown of Hartford.
Around 250 members created a petition and hired a lawyer in an attempt to stop the move. Despite the effort by this group the plans for a move are still underway.
The new locations:
-Hartford point 1, green high-rise building. Attached to civic center, Trumble Street side.
-North end, off of Albany Ave.
-South end, yet to determined.
