Parking costs on campus will soon be changed by the University to what it feels is a more fair system. Students will be paying the same amount they are paying now, for each year they park on campus. For example, if you’re paying $470 as a sophomore, you will continue to pay $470 each year after that.
Dave Isgur, Director of Media Relations, says, “We wanted to create equality between all of the classes. We didn’t want juniors and seniors paying significantly less than a freshman was paying. That didn’t seem fair…It does increase some revenue, which we needed to do to adequately maintain and repair sidewalks, paved parking lots, improve parking conditions on campus which we hadn’t always had the funds to do.”
