The University of Hartford women's basketball team is ready to re-peat as America East Champions as the Hawks were ranked number one in the 2006 preseaon conference poll last week. Senior Danielle Hood and 2005-06 Rookie of the Year Erika Beverly will lead the Hawks into Philadelphia on November 17th when Hartford opens up the regular season with a match against St. Joseph's. Both players were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Hartford plays their first home game on November 29th when they host Seton Hall in a non-conference game.
