A small hole in a water line, in the center of the academic lawn, caused big problems Thursday, February 8th. The damage may be attributed to this week’s cold temperatures. The repair of the pipe caused the water to be temporarily shut down in four surrounding buildings, including the Harry Jack Grey Center and the Hartt School.
David Isguar, Director of Media Relations, said, “Primarily Facilities people are doing the work. It’s a University of Hartford line, but we are communicating with the water system for the entire region, the Metropolitan District. As well as making sure that fire safety people from Hartford and West Hartford are aware of what we’re doing and keeping them in the loop.
The line was repaired later that Thursday afternoon.
