The University of Hartford women’s basketball team won their 11th straight game on Saturday when the Hawks topped Binghamton, 73-66. Hartford now has 20 wins on the season and sit in first place in the America East Conference.
Hartford got big contributions from just about everyone as five players scored in double-digits with Danielle Hood having a team-high 18 points in just 20 minutes. MaryLynne Schaefer, Ikea Witt, Lisa Etienne, and Diana Delva also put up double-digits in the win for Hartford.
Despite being outscored 41-34 in the second half, Hartford was able to hold on by taking a 39-25 lead into halftime. BU shot 42 percent from the floor in the game as they were led by Laine Kurpniece who had 18 points as well. Hartford only shot 38 percent from the floor in the win but with five players in double-figures, it was more than enough.
Hartford will play their second to last game of the season and final home game on the year on Tuesday, February 27 when the Hawks host Maine at 7 p.m.
