Admissions Boo-Boo

Two-thousand people who applied to the University of Hartford received acceptance letters earlier this month, but they hadn’t actually been accepted!

Dave Isgur, Dir. of Media Relations, said the company the university hired contracted another company which sent out the wrong letters. They were supposed to send out letters requesting more information for the evaluation process, but instead sent out acceptance letters.

Isgur explained how Admissions reacted to the problem.

“They did a broadcast voicemail that they were able to send out to all the applicants that had gotten the wrong letters explaining waht had happened and tellingi them that they would be getting another letter. In addition we sent out a certified letter to all of the poeple explaining what had happened apologizing for that.”

Talk about false hope.
