On Wednesday, Warren Clark, a former ambassador to the Middle East, presented a lecture on bringing peace to the area. He presented a history of the violence, and led a discussion about possible peace options. Clark now works for a lobbyist organization, Churches for Middle East Peace:
“We’re a political advocacy group, and we work with the Congress, and the White House, and the State Department, and we try to encourage them to help bring about an agreement for peace between Israel and the Palestinians.”
The advocacy group works closely with politicians who promote peace, and works with different organizations to generate publicity. If you are interested in getting involved, you can visit CMEP’s website at www.cmep.org to learn more.
