The CT Auto Show is in town this weekend, and one of the major draws is expected to be the Chevrolet Volt. The Volt allows drivers to plug their car in and average drivers are expected to get all of there daily driving done on just one dollar and fifty cents of gas a day. Drivers who go on long trips will activate a small gas engine that will still rely on the battery for power.
“You really cant get stranded, because the car has so many back up batteries” says Mike Rubberer of Chevrolet.
The Volt was supposed to appear at the Auto Show last year, but was removed at the last minute when GM executives needed to drive the car to congressional hearing in Washington.
