Uharmonies is now bringing people cheer on their birthday’s with birthday grams.
Uharmonies, the fairly new all female a’capella group here on campus, has started a fundraiser that helps people celebrate their birthdays in a unique new way. The group sings their own version of ‘happy birthday’ in every birthday gram they perform. For just a happy birthday song it costs the individual ten dollars, but for fifteen dollars they will include a balloon and candle-lit cupcake as well. Jill Rizzio, the director of Uharmonies says,
“It’s my hope that it will get pretty big, I think each time we sing to someone, someone else will be around and hear it and maybe pass it on to a friend, but so far we’ve only done a couple. were trying to reach out to the parents of freshman who are worried for there child’s first year away from home and make sure their birthday does not go forgotten”.
To send a friend a birthday gram, e-mail the group uharmonies with a time and place to sing. With the money uharmonies raises they hope to release a CD featuring their music this year. To get in contact with the group e-mail, .
