Smoke, Fire, the smell of burning plastic and rubber, even a few minor explosions. There the sights, smells, and sounds people near the rear of Gengras experienced around noon on Thursday when a van was engulfed in flames.
The burning van sat in B-Lot for about 10-15 minutes before the Hartford Fire Department arrived on scene and put out the blaze. Reports say that the fire started when the driver got out of the van and lit a cigarette tossing the lighter back into the vehicle
Randy Skolnick the vans driver tells STN2 he is the owner Randy’s Orchids in Bayside New York and was on campus to sell plants, and fish during Happy Hour.
