The University of Hartford has recently acknowledged the Hartt School’s Music education program for having a high percentage of graduating students finding jobs soon after their graduation.
Joshua Russel, the director of the music education program and a professor at the Harrt school says that the program’s success in preparing students for their chosen career is nothing new. It is his opinion that the University has now just noticed the program’s success.
He credits the success of the program to multiple factors such as the admissions process, Having students work with the magnet school, and close relationships between faculty and students.
Students are placed in teaching environment such as the University of Hartford Magnet School, located on campus in their freshmen year and they develop different and unique ways of teaching music.
