Former Hartford baseball first baseman TJ Ward was recently signed by the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore Professional Baseball League. A four-year member of the Hawks, Ward capped off his career by earning America East All-Conference First Team honors this past season. “TJ worked extremely hard to come back from a serious injury,” said head coach Justin Blood. “He put together another impactful year for our program this past season. We are very excited and happy for him to get this opportunity to play professionally.” In addition to receiving his second First Team All-Conference nod, Ward was also named to the America East All-Academic Team this past season. Finishing second on the team and fifth in the America East with 39 RBI, 15 of his 53 hits went for extra bases, including 11 doubles and three homers. Also a three-time America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll member in the classroom, Ward graduated this past May with a degree in math and secondary education.
