A United States military member was killed in Afghanistan on Thursday October 4th, 2018. The service member was part of NATO, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Resolute Support mission and the incident as to why they died is being investigated as well as their name being withheld.
Resolute Support is a NATO-led mission to train, assist and advise Afghanistan’s national security forces. There are about 16,000 service members from 39 NATO allies and partners involved.
General Scott Miller, commander of Resolute Support and United States Forces Afghanistan states “We mourn and honor the sacrifice of our service member.”
