The Bundesliga to Start Back up in May

Derek Bennett | Article Published May 10, 2020

The Bundesliga has been suspended since March 13th, just like many other leagues all around the world. However, the German league has the chance to make one of the quickest comebacks to sports than other leagues. The Bundesliga is now aiming for a start back up on May 16th, over two months since they were suspended.

This will be the first mainstream league to come back in the sports world for sports fans. Yes, there have been some leagues that have still been in play without fans for the past couple of months including Belarus soccer, Nicaragua soccer, and South Korean soccer and baseball, as the Korean Baseball league just signed a deal with ESPN to start broadcasting games.

It should be an exciting end of the season in the German league as most teams are down to only 9 games left each and last year's Champions Bayern Munich only have a 4 point lead on Dortmund.

The games will be played without fans and they are aiming for the season to be over, by June 30th. Currently there is no word on the Barclays Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, or UEFA club competitions.
