On November 18th, 60 names heard their name called in the 2020 NBA Draft. Their dreams of playing in the NBA finally came true.
The Minnesota Timberwolves started the night out by picking first. There was a lot of buzz surrounding this pick but they ended up selecting Anthony Edwards out of the University of Georgia. They feel he will be a great fit alongside D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Lamelo Ball didn’t have to wait long to hear his name be called. The Charlotte Hornets decided to pick him 3rd overall in the draft. We may finally see the 1v1 between Lavar Ball and Michael Jordan that all sports fans have been dying to see.
The surprise of the night came at pick number four where the Chicago Bulls drafted Patrick Williams out of Florida State. Williams wasn’t even a starter in college, but Williams has great size, great intangibles, and a high potential that the Bulls could not pass up on.
Ain’t no stoppin’ Toppin from coming back to New York. The 2020 Naismith Player of the Year, Obi Toppin will return to where he grew up and start his NBA career there. The Knicks are hoping he can bring some noise to the Garden with his dunks as well as championships that they have been longing for.
With the talent coming in, the NBA will have a bunch of stars that will be leading the league for years to come.
