Just one day after teasing on his social media a short promotion for his new project, Tyler has officially announced his eighth studio album, Chromakopia, will be releasing on October 28th.
What to expect
Fans took to their own speculation from Tylers snippet, “ST. CHROMA” that there might be a Brent Faiyaz, Steve Lacy, or even Frank Ocean feature in the background but nothing has been confirmed. This said, it’s likely based on his previous projects that Chromokopia will have a star-studded feature list. On top of this, Tyler also previewed his new look for this album’s rollout. Time and time again Tyler has given us iconic looks ranging from the blond-haired Igor, dapper pastel wearing Mr. Baudelire from Call Me if You Get Lost, and now the masked man with a split in his hair for Chromakopia. It’s nearly a guarantee we will be seeing the live debut of this new persona at Tylers set for Camp Flog Gnaw in early November, which is Tylers annual music festival hosted in Los Angeles.
Establishing New Patterns
This album’s release will officially break the streak of Tyler releasing new music every two years, something he has stayed true to ever since his debut album Golbin, in 2013. This shouldn’t be too shocking for fans, as Tyler historically was due for a new album in studio album in 2023, but instead released, “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST: The Estate Sale” a deluxe of his album released 2 years before this. This brings the question on if Tyler will now release an album every two years from this point on, or if he’ll not limit his artistry to a scheduled time anymore and release new work whenever he feels it’s ready.
Looking Forward
With release dates, album features, and other things still in the air, all fans can look forward to is the 11 days until Chromakopias release.
