CFB Week 12 Predictions

Last week was utter chaos, major ranking shake ups, revenge games, bounce back games, lookahead games, and all that jazz await us this week. I am going to go through each top 25 teams game this week and predict what I think the score and outcome will be.

25 Tulane at Navy – Now Navy has had a great season but Tulane’s offense is on fire and Navy’s defense will not able to keep up with Tulane battling for a playoff spot in top of winning the American Conference.

Tulane wins 45-13

24 Army – BYE week, Army vs 8 Notre Dame in Yankee Stadium next week

23 Missouri vs 21 South Carolina – see 21 South Caolina for prediction

22 LSU at Florida – A beat up Florida team in the swamp against an LSU team coming off there most embarrassing loss this decade? Give me LSU by a lot

LSU 38-10

21 South Carolina vs 23 Missouri – South Carolina is the most underrated team in the country, if wasn’t for the close loss to LSU in week 3, they would probably be top 15 team, not to mention they only lost to Alabama by 2, in Alabama. Mizzou has only lost 2 games but they have not looked good, the game being in South Carolina is another benefit for South Carolina, Missouri has not been a good road team.

South Carolina 31-14

20 Clemson at Pitt – Pitt was 7-0 before getting smoked by SMU two weeks ago and then losing to Virginia last week. Clemson lost to Louisville two weeks ago as well but I don’ think that’s going to matter, Clemson has been to good since losing to Georgia in week 1.

Clemson 33-17

19 Louisville at Stanford. I think this game will be closer than a lot of people think, Louisville is favored by 20.5 as they travel across the country, and coming off a bye week I think that will slow them down a little bit, I still think Louisville wins but not by a lot.

Louisville 27-17

18 Washington State at New Mexico – In the first year with no Pac 12 one of the teams is still kicking around WASU is 8-1 and not slowing down anytime soon, they will come into New Mexico and roll them.

Washington State 28-10

17 Colorado vs Utah – Utah gave BYU a run for their money last week and probably should have won that game. A Kyle Whittingham defense is not one to take lightly. Colorado is riding high right now, they’ve flown under the radar all year and coming off a huge win at Texas Tech last week Deion’s Buffs are in a great spot to sneak into the playoff. This might backfire on me but I’m riding with the upset, I think Utah’s defense will be to much for Colorado and they pound the rock to keep the Colorado offense off the field, and I think this is where the playoff hopes for Colorado die.

Utah 21-20

16 Kansas State vs Arizona State – A clash between two 7-2 teams Kansas State is coming off of a bye week but prior to that they were handed there second loss of the year to Houston. Arizona State has been a really surprising team this year and there running game has been extraordinary, Kansas States has as well and coming off of a loss and a bye week and both teams are terrific at home and because of that Kansas State will win a close low scoring game. This is a very hard game to predict.

Kansas State 24-20

15 Texas A&M vs New Mexico State – New Mexico State did come into Auburn last year and beat them, but this Texas A&M team is much different than them, they should cruise to a win at home.

Texas A&M 49-7

14 SMU vs Boston College – SMU sits alone on top of the ACC after Miami, Pitt, and Clemson have all dropped games over the last two weeks. BC is turning to their backup quarterback and thier defense has let up 31 plus points in the last three weeks, in addition to that SMU has scored 30 plus 7 times this year and they should do it again.

SMU 44-20

13 Boise State at San Jose St – In what will be the most difficult test to close out the season for Boise State they travel to 6-3 San Jose St. All the attention for Boise has rightfully been on Ashton Jeanty but their defense hasn’t let up more than 24 points since the beginning of October and they will win this game on the back of the defense.

Boise State 27-13

12 Georgia – see 7 Tennesee for prediction

11 Ole Miss – BYE week, next game at Florida 11/23

10 Alabama vs Mercer – I’m going to give Mercer their flowers, their 9-1 and having a great season in the FCS. I do see a bit of a hangover from the huge win at LSU last week but it shouldn’t matter Bama will still cruise to a win.

Alabama 49-17

9 Miami – BYE week, next game vs Wake Forest 11/23

8 Notre Dame vs Virginia – The Irish have been unstoppable since their lone loss to Northern Ilinois. Virginia is coming off a huge upset win against Pitt and they look to continue that momentum into the Notre Dame game. Notre Dame will win but they won’t cover the spread of 23.

Notre Dame 34-16

7 Tennessee at 12 Georgia – The game of the week. Georgia has been so confusing. They went from a dominating win at Texas to a sloppy win against Florida and then getting dominated by Ole Miss. At the end of the day Georgia is to inconstant for me but I can’t pick against them at home in an important game their defense is the only thing keeping them alive. I think Georgia will win but if Carson Beck continues to make mistakes Tennessee will win.

Georgia 23-17

6 BYU vs Kansas – Despite Kansas’s record they have played every team close, five of their losses have been withina score. BYU barely escaped Utah last week so I think this game will be very close.

BYU 27-24

5 Indiana – BYE week, next game at 2 Ohio State 11/23

4 Penn State at Purdue – They say Purdue is a place where top ten teams go to die, but they are 0-3 against top 10 opponents this year. Penn state will probably win big.

Penn State 35-13

3 Texas at Arkansas – Arkansas already has a win over a top 5 team this year after they beat Tennessee at home, can the rediscover that magic again? Probably not. Texas wins big on the road.

Texas 42-14

2 Ohio State at Northwestern – Ohio States defense will dominate this game. Northwesterns offense has gotten over 300 yards in a game this season only twice. Expect a blowout at Wrigley Feild on Saturday.

Ohio State 55-3

1 Oregon at Wisconsin – Wisconisin has played both Penn State and Alabama and they haven’t been able to score against either. I expect more of the same in Madison.

Oregon 37-14
