We saw lots of Madness again in Week 12, now we have with a Week 13 slate filled with trap games before huge rivalries next week, headlined with a top 5 matchup in Columbus and a clash between old rivals at Yankee Stadium, and not to mention a huge battle in the desert with Big 12 championship hopes on the line. Let’s get into each game for the top 25 in the CFP rankings.
No. 25 UNLV at San Jose State – The UNLV offense will really be put to the test against a scruffy SJSU defense, it should be enough to keep them in the game for the most of it, but I don’t think the defense can carry them to a win.
UNLV 28-17
No. 24 Illionois at Rutgers – This will be an even matchup with good defense being played and a low number of turnovers. In these situations, I like to pick the home team and I will again.
Rutgers 21-20
No. 23 Missouri at Mississippi St. – After the chaotic loss to South Carolina last week, Mizzou should bounce back in a big way against a not so good Mississippi St team
Missouri 33-14
No. 22 Iowa State at Utah – I picked Utah to beat Colorado last week and that didn’t pan out well for me. Iowa State was on the struggle bus after dropping back-to-back games after starting 7-0 but they responded with a 34-17 win at Cincinnati. After nearly beating BYU the previous week, Utah got destroyed against Colorado last week, and since I don’t learn from my mistakes I’m picking Utah again. I love Kyle whittingham and I think they outcoach there way to a sloppy victory.
Utah 24-20
No. 21 Arizona State vs 14 BYU – see 14 BYU for Prediction
No. 20 Tulane – BYE , next game 11/28 vs Memphis
No. 19 Army vs 6 Notre Dame – see 6 Notre Dame for prediction
No. 18 South Carolina vs Wofford – Its more of a warm up game for Clemson next week, the Cocks are going to roll to a big win.
South Carolina 45-9
No. 17 Clemson vs The Citadel – Another warmup game for Clemson as they patiently wait for the outcomes of SMU and Miami as they try to sneak into the ACC championship.
Clemson 52-7
No. 16 Colorado at Kansas – I said last week that Kansas had been playing in close games all year and they pulld off a massive upset, but can they do it again? Colorado is only favored by 3 and their riding high after the blowout win against Utah. I think Kansas will keep it close but I don’t see them pulling off 2 upsets in a row.
Colorado 24-19
No. 15 Texas A&M at Auburn – Auburn has been bad this year, but it’s a tough place to play especially at night, with Texas awaiting the Aggies next week Auburn might give them a lot of trouble, but I think A&M will narrowly survive in Auburn.
Texas A&M 24-21
No. 14 BYU at 21 Arizona State – This my most anticipated game of the weekend two teams fighting for birth in the conference championship, two teams that were picked to come in last in the Big 12. ASU is favored, and should be, I’m not losing faith in BYU after the loss to Kansas last week but the red zone offense was a huge problem for them and I can’t pick them to win because of that.
Arizona State 24-16
No. 13 SMU at Virginia – SMU is coming of yet another close game and their only favored by ten against a very less talented Virginia team. Thats a big sign for me I would expect SMU to role with how bad Virginias defense is but Vegas sees something everyone else doesn’t so I think it’ll be close.
SMU 31-20
No. 12 Boise State at Wyoming – Boise State has two easy games to finish of the year and I expect no struggle from Jeanty and co.
Boise State 42-17
No. 11 Tennessee vs UTEP – After a loss to Georgia last week I am not going to say much on this game, the vols are out for blood.
Tennessee 63-7
No. 10 Georgia vs UMASS – Again, not much to say other than how disrespected the dogs feel with their rating, UMASS won’t be a problem.
Georgia 55-6
No. 9 Ole Miss at Florida – Ole Mis hasn’t beat Florida in 16 years and the Gators ere a problem for Tennessee and Georgia before beating LSU. I’m not picking Florida but this will be a one score game for the majority of the game.
Ole Miss 23-14
No. 8 Miami vs Wake Forest – The first game that Miami will play since losing to Georgia Tech, after a bye week and with the loss looming, Miami will roll past Wake Forest.
Miami 45-24
No. 7 Alabama at Oklahoma – I think this game will be closer than a lot of people think, but Milroe and co. will be too much for the sooners to handle.
Alabama 31-23
No. 6 Notre Dame vs 19 Army – Army is a physical team and I am pulling for them to win but Notre Dame has been a well-oiled machine since week 2 and I think they will beat Army pretty convincingly.
Notre Dame 28-14
No. 5 Indiana at 2 Ohio State – see 2 Ohio State for prediction
No. 4 Penn State at Minnesota – Penn States defense is too good, and Minnesota offense is too bad. Penn State will dominate this game the whole time.
Penn State 34-10
No. 3 Texas vs Kentucky – Potential trap game for Texas before next week I think Kentucky will keep it close for a while but Texas will prevail.
Texas 30-17
No. 5 Indiana at 2 Ohio State – This would be the biggest win in Indiana history, and maybe their catching the buckeyes at a bad time as the Hoosiers are coming off a bye, and Ohio State’s the look ahead for Michigan always gets them and their beat up on the line. I don’t think it will matter but I can hope. It’ll be close for a while before Ohio State pull away in the end.
Ohio State 31-17
No. 1 Oregon – BYE Next game vs Washington 11/30
