Two-time Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell is headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers on a five year, $182 million contract (Passan). Snell, 31, pitched in 20 games in 2024 for the San Francisco Giants, posting a 5-3 record and a 3.12 ERA. The highlight of Snell’s season came on August 2nd, when he threw his first career No-Hitter against the Cincinnati Reds.
Snell gets the first long-term deal of the offseason, just one year after a tumultuous free agency that saw the 2023 Cy Young winner remain unsigned until the middle of Spring Training. The former first round pick had signed a 2 year, $62 million deal with San Francisco, which he opted out of earlier this offseason.
For the Dodgers, Snell solidifies an already impressive starting rotation with Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Walker Buehler, Tyler Glasnow, and the reigning National League Most Valuable Player: Shohei Ohtani, who is expected to return to the mound at some point in 2025.
