Jody Vance, a 20-year-old bodybuilder has passed away.
Vance's family released a statement to news outlets saying that the athlete passed away after, "Her heart stopped due to complications of severe dehydration," (NBC News).
Vance was in Ohio attending the Arnold Sports Festival when she was taken to a local hospital after she started to feel sick.
Though the circumstances surrounding her death are unknown Vance's family cited the incident as sudden and unexpected.
Vance's loved ones publicly released the news hoping to encourage others to prioritize their health and wellness.
