Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George Shut Down for the Season

The injuries continue to mount in Philadelphia...

Philadelphia 76ers star small forward Paul George has been ruled out for the season after he was given injections for his left adductor muscle and left knee on Monday, the team announced.

George will be sidelined for six weeks and with the 76ers out of the playoff picture, the 34 year old will not be returning to NBA action this season.

These are the latest injuries in a series of ailments that have derailed George’s season. He was only able to play 41 games earlier in the year because of multiple knee hyperextensions, a pinkie finger tendon injury, and a groin issue.

In his first year with Philadelphia after signing a massive 4 year, 212 million dollar contract, George finished his season averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.

The 76ers big three of George, center Joel Embiid, and point guard Tyrese Maxey only played 15 games together this season as Embiid struggled with injuries himself, playing 19 games due to recurring knee pain.

Philadelphia (currently 23-44) looks to finish the 2024-25 season quietly, and get fully healthy and ready to compete for 2026.
