The Milwaukee Bucks received bad news on Tuesday, as star point guard Damian Lillard was diagnosed with a blood clot in his right calf which will sideline him indefinitely and potentially the rest of the NBA season.
The 34 year old will be on a blood thinning medication after meeting with specialists to help identify the issue. Lillard had previously missed the last three games for Milwaukee with what was described at the time as a calf strain.
This is a big loss for the Bucks, as Lillard was having a fantastic season in his second year with the team. He was averaging 25 points and 7 assists on excellent shooting splits in 58 games played so far this year.
Big Game Dame has made 9 all-star teams throughout his 13-year NBA career.
Milwaukee currently stands 5th in the eastern conference and appears locked into the playoffs. However, without the sidekick to Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team will sorely lack scoring and playmaking prowess in its goal to win another championship banner at the Fiserv Forum.
