The Boston Red Sox and their Ace, Starting Pitcher Garrett Crochet, agreed to a 6-year $ 170 million extension on Monday evening. The Red Sox gave up three of their top 15 prospects to acquire Crochet in December and now they’ve locked him up for the next 6 seasons. The deal starts in 2026, and it includes an opt out after 2030 with no deferred money. The Red Sox have locked up another on of their keys to the future with more extensions expected soon for rookie Kristan Campbell and when other prospects Marcelo Mayer, MLB No. 11, and Roman Anthony, MLB No. 2, are called up extensions for them are expected to come soon after. This was a much-needed win for the Red Sox as they have started the year 1-4. Crochet is set to make his first start since the extension on Wednesday against the Orioles.
