My Chemical Romance has wrapped up the North American leg of their “Long Live” The Black Parade Tour, with a final show in Tampa, Florida. The band sold out every North American stop, selling nearly 365,000 tickets.
On September 20th, the band is headed to the Shaky Knees festival in Atlanta, Georgia as their last concert in North America this tour cycle, headlining along with Blink-182 and Deftones.
Each tour date included a different opening band, featuring bands like Thursday, Pixies, Death Cab For Cutie, Wallows and Idles. The Tampa stop featured Evanescence, another iconic pop-punk band of 2000s fame.
The band played their 2006 album, The Black Parade, in full on the A-stage, in full military garb and special effect
flames. On the B-stage, the band changed into their “civilian” clothes and performed songs from the rest of
their discography, even hitting “My Way Home Is Through You,” from the Black Parade B-side EP, a song which they
haven’t played live since 2008. This tour was filled with theatrics, building on the Black Parade storyline with each tour stop.
Frontman Gerard Way is no stranger to theatrics- at each tour stop on their 2022 reunion tour, Way
donned a new costume. This tour was no different, with each band member being fully committed to the
storyline. In January, the pop-punk act is headed to South America for the next leg of their tour, which will
conclude at Wembley stadium in London on July 11. You can follow My Chemical Romance on Instagram
