College Football Week 4 was a wild one, let’s get right into the best games from the week.
21 Michigan runs Nebraska Over
The Wolverines ran for three touchdowns of over 40 yards in the 30-27 win. Michigan dominated the trenches by registering 8 sacks and keeping Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola under constant pressure. This game was a wild one, Michigan was off to a quick 10-0 lead, before the Huskers tied it at 10. Justice Haynes would rip off a 75 yard touchdown run to make it 17-10 just before halftime. Nebraska had fourth down at the 50 with 20 seconds left, but Michigan acting head coach, Biff Pogi, did not use a timeout giving Nebraska a low risk high rewards hail mary which they would covert from fifty yards to tie the game. Michigan would score the next 13 points and hold the lead the rest of the way, dominating the second half to come away with a win.
19 Indiana Obliterates 9 Illinois
Illinois walked into Indiana as a 2-point favorite; they walked away losing by 53. 5 touchdowns for Fernando Mendoza along with only 2 incompletions, with the team averaging 7 yards per carry is prime stats for a blowout, and that’s exactly what happened. Illinois had 2 rushing yards, yes, 2 rushing yards, the Indiana defense sacked Luke Altmyer 7 times, just pure dominance in the trenches. Indiana picks up a huge statement win, and as for Illinois, their playoff chances might be gone.
11 Oklahoma controversially beats 22 Auburn
Oklahoma won by a touchdown, but a controversial Auburn scoop and score was the main story line. An Oklahoma player fumbled the ball but the pass was ruled incomplete after review. Regardless of the controversy, Oklahoma sacked Auburn QB Jackson Arnold a program record 10 times, twice on the final two plays. The Sooner’s defense was everywhere, holding dynamic receiver Cam Coleman to only 3 catches, he did have 80 yards and touchdown. John Mateer threw for 271 and a touchdown, he led the Sooners in rushing with only 29 yards and a touchdown. Oklahoma looks very scary in the SEC.
4 Miami rolls over Florida
Miami might be the best team in the country as they beat Florida 26-7. Carson Beck only threw for 160 and a TD, the run game was dominant, as Mark Fletcher III had 116 yards on the ground for the Canes. The Miami defense held the Gators to 141 yards of total offense. A dominant performance from Miami showing they can win in different ways.
