Dembele wins the Ballon D’Or

On Monday, it was announced that PSG and French superstar Ousmane Dembele has won the 2025 Ballon D’or. Dembele takes home football’s greatest individual honor, beating out PSG teammate Vitinha, who finished third, and Lamine Yamal, who finished second. He was at the heart of PSG’s first-ever triumph in Europe, delivering Parisians the moment they had craved for over a decade. He had totaled 34 goals and 16 assits winning four trophies and playing part in massive goals for PSG’s Champions League campaign byt scoring or assisting in each of the last 6 matches. Dembele has had quite a journey which started in Dortmund then he moved to Barcelona, where he was treated quite unfairly, now just a couple of years after his departure he has won a Champions League and now he has a Ballon D’or, and he beat out Barca’s biggest stars. Karma.

Aitina Bonmati won the Women’s Ballon D’or, her third in a row, becoming the first women to achieve such a feat, the third ever player to do it.

Biggest snubs

Raphinia finishing fifth was pretty disgraceful in my opinion. He didn’t have the trophies Dembele had, but he was easily the second-best player in the world. He had more goals and assists then Dembele did and Barca was a few seconds away from reaching the UCL final, but they crashed out in the last moments against Inter. I am not saying he should have won, but he should have at least came second ahead of Yamal (2nd), Vitinha(3rd), and Salah(4th). I also thought Pedri deserved a higher finish. He was easily the best midfielder in the world and seeing Vitinha finish third, which I am not saying he didn’t deserve, but Pedri finished lower than, Palmer, Mbappe, Donnarumma, and more, when he should have came higher.
