After making a miraculous run to the Super Bowl and falling to the Seahawks, the Patriots have parted ways with WR Stefon Diggs. Diggs had 1014 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, the veteran became a valuable target for second year QB Drake Maye becoming the first Patriots WR to have over 1000 receiving yards since Julian Edelman in 2019.
What's Next
For the Patriots, they freed up an extra 20 million dollars in cap space which turns their eyes turn to a bigger name receiver, names like AJ Brown and Alec Pierce have popped up a lot and after all the cap space and dead money is added up in the next few weeks before the draft and free agency, the Pats will have a lot of money to spend to make another run back at the Super Bowl.
A year after tearing his ACL Diggs had a great season and seeing whatsa young team did around him a rebulbing teams will likely be on the lookout to potentially sign Diggs. He is also currently battling legal trouble as he is facing a felony assult charge.
NFL Free Agency begins on March 11th.
