STN2Staff | Article Published February 10, 2006

A male junior is still in the process of recovering tonight from a case of bacterial meningitis. There have been no other reported cases of the disease on campus as of yet. However, officials do want to stress that if you feel the symptoms of meningitis to seek treatment immediately from health services. Symptoms of bacterial meningitis usually develop suddenly. Symptoms include: fever, sever headache, stiffness in neck, vomiting, confusion and decreased level of consciousness, and seizures. You may also experience overall weakness and sluggishness. If you experience any of these symptoms it is very important to contact health services immediately at 860-769-6601 (extension 6601 on campus).
