If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway from campus, The Claypen on Farmington Avenue may be just the place for you. With more than 50 bisqueware pottery items to choose from, the possibilities are endless.
Prices in pottery range anywhere from 2 to 60 dollars. They have an assortment of pottery, including dishes, bowls, mugs, mirrors, and vases. For college students, Claypen manager Tina Mirto said “the most popular pieces are beer steins, goblets, and martini glasses…all things that I think would fit in your dorm room.”
More recnelty, holidays items have been added to selection, like Christmas bulbs, Chanukah manoras, and Christmas dishes and ornaments.
There is a studio fee of $4 a half hour per painter, but special weekly promotions can help you save some money (promotions listed below).
Mirto adds the final product is microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe.
Professional artists are at hand if you need any help. There are also tracers if you’re not the “artistic type.”
The Claypen accepts all forms of payment, except Discover. Right now they’re working on a student discount for us collegefolk.
