WWE’s library for international markets will be shutting down on January 1, 2025, after a press release was sent out stating:
On January 1, 2025, WWE Network will no longer be available in your area. After January 1, Netflix will be the new exclusive home of WWE.
Netflix will bring WWE’s electrifying content all to one place, including weekly shows, Monday Night RAW, SmackDown and NXT, PLUS Premium Live Events (PLEs) such as WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam.
Many of WWE’s top moments, along with historic PLEs and select programming, will be available on Netflix
beginning January 1.
The premiere live episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix airing on January 6 will feature some of the biggest names in WWE such as John Cena, Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Bianca Belair, in addition to many other Superstars and guests including Travis Scott.
If you are already a Netflix subscriber, you’re all set. If you are not a Netflix subscriber, you will need to subscribe so you don’t miss a moment. We can’t wait for you to experience WWE on Netflix this January.
Sincerely,
WWE Network Support” (Sports Illustrated)
In October 2014, the streaming service became available for download, where the WWE’s fanbase was given access to “archived content, original programming, and, most importantly, premium live events such as WrestleMania” (What’s on Netflix). This was the in-house streaming service for years, up until 2021, when the WWE would ink a multi-year deal with NBCUniversal in January 2021, which saw a transition of WWE content from the WWE Network to Peacock “in the United States and Binge in Australia” (What’s on Netflix).
The WWE Network was still around for international use, where all of the content was available for viewers. It wasn’t until recently that the WWE struck a $5 billion deal that would see one of WWE’s flagship shows, ‘RAW,’ “move to the streaming service exclusively from January 2025,” with Netflix also being “the home for all WWE content globally outside of the USA” (What’s on Netflix).
With the loss of the WWE Network, many international fans will not be losing much, with the deal being “even more significant outside of the United States, which will see Raw, Smackdown, WWE’s developmental brand NXT, and the company’s Premium Live Events such as WrestleMania and the Royal Rumble, original programming and more will be exclusive to Netflix Internationally from January 2025” (What’s on Netflix).
WWE Raw will debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
