“On May 4, 2021, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Hartford Police officers were called to 17 Norwich Street on a shot spotter activation of six rounds. Officers located three victims, each suffering from gunshot wounds”(FOX 61), said prosecutors when discussing the events that led to the death of a Hartford resident.

It seemed as if Jones and two others had been standing outside chatting when an argument had reportedly broken out involving one of the defendants [Rodriguez], which led to one of the three victims, attempting to intervene in the argument, “Rodriguez responded, “You don’t want any part of this,” and then called Fields on the phone. Minutes later, Fields and Rodriguez walked toward the victims and began shooting at them as the victims tried to flee” (FOX 61).

Jones, who was shot in his chest was sent to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, while the other two victims were shot in their back and leg respectively but survived.
