Playoff baseball is in West Hartford CT and it’s not the Yard Goats

For the first time Hartford Hawks are hosting a playoff game

The Hartford Hawks have secured a #3 seed in the Conference of New England (CNE) which means playoff baseball is coming to Fiondella Field here in West Hartford. The Hawks finished the regular season with a record of 18-20 and conference record of 9-7. The Hawks will play one game at home then go to Dudley Massachusetts for the quarterfinal. Due to the Hawks making the playoffs they are guaranteed to play at least two more games this season. The Hawks if they win will take on Nichols College who they swept in the regular season with final scores of 9-8 and 19-3. But before the Hawks take on the Nichols College Bison they have to play the Roger Williams University Hawks.

The Roger Williams University baseball team has had a lot of success against the Hawks, including a season sweep in 2024. However in 2025 the Hawks didn’t have as much success against Hartford. In a double header back on April 14th the Hartford Hawks hosted the Roger Williams Hawks where the Hawks would split the series. Roger Williams would win game one with a final score of 6-3, however in game two Hartford would get their revenge and first win against the conference rival winning 4-1. That double header was the first time Roger Williams University had played on the turf of Fiondella Field.

The Hartford Hawks are also looking for revenge. The Hawks haven’t won a playoff game since 2018 where they would end up winning the American East before losing to Stetson and University of Southern Florida at the NCAA DeLand Regional.

With this being the first season that Hartford can compete in a conference playoff, the team looks to make a big run and give Endicott a fight for the championship. However everything starts with one game.

The last home game of the 2025 season for the Hartford Hawks in Wednesday at 3pm.
