Oklahoma QB John Mateer to have Surgery

Oklahoma QB, and current Heisman front runner, John Mateer, had surgery Wednesday afternoon to repair a broken bone in his right hand, he is expected to miss approximately one month. Mateer was injured in Oklahoma’s 24-17 win over Auburn on Saturday, despite the injury he threw for 247 yards, completed 24 of his 36 passes, threw and ran for a touchdown. Mateer will miss about four games including the Red River Rivalry showdown against Texas. The Sooners QB has thrown for 1,216 yards and 6 touchdowns, while rushing for 190 and 5 touchdowns through four games.
