Hartford Men's Soccer ended their season on Saturday after falling to Western New England in Extra time 2-1. The Hawks were battling the whole game as Jared Noble put the Hawks in front in the 11th minute, Austin Murawski and David Czubat were key contributors on the goal, Murawski tallied the assist which marked his 8th assist of the year, and Czubat forced an error from the WNE back line to put the Hawks in front. WNE would continue to apply pressure, forcing a diving stop out of GK Ryan Lunn mere moments after the goal. In the second half things would go downhill for the Hawks, The Golden Bears would answer off of a free kick in the 68th minute, surrendered by Ron Palillo who would pick up a yellow card. Things would continue to get worse as Palillo would pick up a second yellow as he would pull down Shay Oneil of WNE in frustration and then the hawks would go down to 10 men with 20 to go. The Hawks would hold off the Golden Bears and force Extra Time. On the first chance of Extra Time on a WNE corner they would score and end it for good, ending the game and season for the Hawks.
Hartford has nothing to hang their head about, it was a great accomplishment to even make the postseason. They finished with a record of 10-6-2 with a 6-3-1 record in conference play. Through the moth of September they had a record of 3-3-1 and were sitting in third to last in the CNE. As soon as October hit, this team hit the second gear, and falling in an unfortunate way to Russel Sage and Gordon in the first two matches of the month, the hawks would go unbeaten for the rest of the regular season, only dropping points to Johnson and Wales in a 0-0 draw. In that stretch the Hawks were propelled to the number four seed and secured a home playoff game. The Hartford backline would allow three goals in 8 games, two of them being in one game. Austin Murawski would nod three game winning goals in the stretch and would finish the season with 9 goals and 8 assists. Shoutout to all the Seniors, Jack Merril, Ryan Lunn, Trey Sadler, Jayden Castro, Dom Femiak, Nick Castrovinci, Austin Murawski, Alex Folingo, Micheal Padillia, and Drew Cadarelli.
The Hawks gave nothing to be upset about it was a great season and they have a lot to build on going into 2026.
