The US strengthened ties with the South Caucasus country of Armenia. The two countries have signed the 123 Agreement bringing Nuclear programs and new energy solutions to the region.

Negotiations between Armenia and the US took place on Monday with Vice President JD Vance representing the US. The countries signed  the US’s 123 Agreement which started the Vice President's two day tour of the country. The agreement allows the US to license nuclear technology to Armenia. The new energy source will allow Armenia to strengthen ties with the US and rely less on Russian exports. The deal also gives the US five billion dollars in initial exports and four billion in maintenance and fuel contracts. Most importantly the deal blocks Russian influence out of a region historically controlled out of the former soviet state. Additionally the deal comes just months after the forty year long war between Armenia and Azerbaijan ended with US mediation.

The US has gained another meaningful trade partner while stabilizing region ties in the South Caucasus. While Armenia grows stronger with more independence and autonomy.
