Men’s Golf Wins America East Championship at The International

The men’s golf team captured the America East Championship Tuesday at The International. This is the 11th conference championship for the team and the fourth in six years. The Hawks were led by David Arnold, the Leonard J. Pope medalist, who finished the tournament with a 150. The Hawks held off the defending champion Binghamton, who finished with an overall score of 639, while the Hawks finished with an overall score of 625. Arnold is the eighth Hartford golfer to earn medalist honors at the event. The women’s team finished in second place with an overall score of 726, with Boston University finishing in first with a score of 706. The women were led by senior Kerry Hassell who finished with a score of 176. Hassell, along with BU’s Dierdre Hatfield were named to the all-conference team.
