Fangs

The Science Center of Connecticut is located at 950 Trout Brook Drive in West Hartford. Through June 18, 2006 the center will be hosting Fangs, an exhibit of rare snakes.
Fangs teaches the geographical distribution of snakes in New England and around the world. It also is meant to help educate people on how to determine if the snake is venomous.
It gives tips on what to do if you come in contact with a snake. Snake do not typically bite humans unless provoked so it is important to keep a safe distance. Guests have the option of holding a live non-venomous snake.
The exhibit is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and from noon to 5 pm on Sundays. General admission is 7 dollars per person.
There are also a number of other animals on site including bobcats, turtles, iguanas, and many others. If you aren’t interested in animals, they also have a space exploration exhibit, a planetarium, and many other educational activities.
